The 8th Annual Amanda Todd Legacy Online Auction will be begin on October 1 - 14, 2024. The auction will again coincide with World Mental Health Day on October 10th, 2024. This year will mark the 12th year since Amanda's passing and encourages us to reflect on #Justice4Amanda.
Trial update: The B.C. Supreme Court sentenced Coban to 13 years in prison in October 2022. Conversion hearings were held in the Netherlands in 2023 to align the punishment with Dutch law. A Dutch judge sentenced him to six years.
December 7, 2023 – In the Netherlands, the Dutch courts ruled that the Canadian sentence of 13 years for Aydin Coban would be converted to 6 years in Dutch years. AC has since appealed this ruling.
August, 2024 - The previous Dutch sentence for Aydin Coban will end and he will begin serving prison time for his Canadian sentence in the trial of Amanda Todd.
Last year’s auction was able to raise $27,454.00. With these funds, Amanda’s Legacy was able
create a $25,000 endowment award for students studying in the Music Therapy program at Capilano University - click here to read more. Music therapy is a therapeutic approach that harnesses the mood-enhancing properties of music to promote mental well-being and overall health. It involves various activities, such as making music, writing songs, singing, dancing, listening to music, and discussing musical experiences.
In 2023, the Legacy Auction was able to successfully raise $24,030.70 and continuing to provide continued awareness on topics such as exploitation, sextortion, cyberbullying, online safety and mental wellness.
Through donations and contributions by generous supporters to the legacy we will
continue to help those that need it the most. The legacy supports community initiatives related to children, youth and families in all communities.

Through donations and contributions by generous supporters to Amanda’s Legacy, we have been successful in our goals of building awareness, education and conversations around mental health, cyberbullying and internet safety. The legacy endeavours to empower youth and even their parents in order to provide trust and confidence to make a difference in not only their own lives but the lives of others.
This legacy was established as a non-profit society with the mission goal of focusing on awareness and the well-being of young people and families with respect to prevention and awareness related to bullying, cyber abuse and internet safety as well as resources and awareness that encourage mental wellness and healthy living. Through the gracious donations from individuals, organizations and businesses, we are coming together to make THE difference we all want to make. The variety of items to bid on is plentiful.
