The Amanda Todd Legacy Society is currently organizing its 4th Annual Online Auction to coincide with World Mental Health Day on October 10th, 2020. This is a year of unprecedented struggles due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. Mental health support is very much needed as we deal with restrictions and being unable to visit all our friends and family.
Through donations and contributions by generous supporters to the legacy we will continue to help those that need it the most. The legacy supports community initiatives related to children, youth and families in all communities.

Why this auction is important to the Legacy ...
Through donations and contributions by generous supporters to Amanda’s Legacy, we have been successful in our goals of building awareness, education and conversations around mental health, cyberbullying and internet safety. The legacy endeavours to empower youth and even their parents in order to provide trust and confidence to make a difference in not only their own lives but the lives of others.
This legacy was established as a non-profit society with the mission goal of focusing on awareness and the well-being of young people and families with respect to prevention and awareness related to bullying, cyber abuse and internet safety as well as resources and awareness that encourage mental wellness and healthy living. Through the gracious donations from individuals, organizations and businesses, we are coming together to make THE difference we all want to make. The themes of the donations range from artisans who have donated beautiful pieces of their artwork to businesses that care. We hope there will be something of interest to everyone!! We thank you for your continued support of Amanda's Legacy and wish you happy bidding. |
The 2019 ATL auction helped to support:
1. The legacy was able to give out the first two Amanda Todd Legacy Music Therapy Award of Distinction in April 2019 to students studying in the Foundation for Music Therapy Studies Program - Douglas College Foundation. Click here to DONATE directly to the Douglas College Foundation and choose 'Amanda Todd Legacy Award of Distinction for Music Therapy FT'. The Legacy was also able to reach it's goal of $30,000 needed towards making the Music Therapy Award Endowment Fund which will allow a perpetual award in Amanda's memory. #Forever4Amanda.
2. Legacy Scarf Project - Social media brought many crafters together to join in a project that is #Caring4Others.
WHAT IS NEEDED: Knitted or crocheted or gently used scarves, hats or blankets looking for a good home. No item will be turned away. These warm items will be going to those in need of warmth and a gift of kindness. The initial goal was to gather 100 scarves and we were able to collect a combination of 700 hand knitted scarves/hats and some blankets.
3. Starfish Pack Backpack Program - with the Port Coquitlam Rotary. The Starfish Pack Backpack Program was created in response to teachers hearing the cry of their students. Teachers were heartbroken to hear their students were coming to class Monday morning hungry, reporting that they had not eaten over the weekend. Each Thursday volunteers pack two breakfasts, two lunches, two dinners and healthy snacks into each backpack with food for the weekend. The backpacks full of food are delivered every Friday to each participating school for the remainder of the school year. $525 fills one Starfish Pack all year.
4. Emotions BC - provides training, knowledge and support to help families and friends cope with the mental health challenges of loved ones and with the ultimate goal of connection.
5. Enchantment Project (with SD43) - the Enchantment Project is a project that benefits graduates in SD43 who are unable to afford all the special items that graduation brings about as it is an expensive time and event. We believe that all graduates deserve to go to their grad and that is what this project strives to support. The project helps to provide grad photos, gowns, tuxedo rentals, grad tickets and more to make the graduations day and night a memorable one for all deserving boys and girls. Amanda's Legacy has been a supporter of this project for the past four years.
6. True2You Youth Event - hosted by Port Moody Victim Services - For young people in grades 4 to 6 to learn about empowerment, themselves and how to be better social citizens. (The 2020 event had to be postponed due to COVID19. )
7. And lastly, this auction will help to ensure another year of sustainability for the Amanda Todd Legacy Society so that we can continue to share awareness and resources to those who are in contact and ask for supportive caring.
