What is the Legacy Scarf Project? #Caring4Others
It is important that we give back the gifts we were given in life and are using the "power of goodness" to encourage this project.
TIMELINE: In January 2019, the idea was created and the goal was to collect 100 scarves by December 2019. That goal blossomed to 400+. Amanda's Legacy has now collected over 750+ scarves (including hats and mittens) which are sitting safely in boxes. Items will continue to be collected until Winter2020.
ALSO: If you know of anyone with remnants of yarn, please let them know about the project and if they might donate their remnants.
This idea came from a news story on Global News in Christmas2018. A family in the Toronto area that have been doing this for years and the positive effects it has had for many. Link - Helping the Homeless in Toronto a single scarf at a time
There is a Legacy Scarf Facebook Group for the Legacy Scarf Project 2020 - www.facebook.com/groups/2223844557829376/
WANTED: Knitted or crocheted scarves, hats, mittens. They can also have been gently owned and needing another home. The goal of this project was to have them ready for January 2020 but due to time constraints, this was not able to happen. Our new goal date is now Winter2020.
This is a project that anyone can help with. We all deserve to keep warm when it is cold out. If you have any questions or comments, please email them to firstname.lastname@example.org
Q. How to get the scarves to us?
A. Email to email@example.com or Facebook Message the Legacy Scarf Project FB page to arrange a way for delivery of scarves.
